As it is essential for a country to monitor its public sector debt, as part of the objective to ensure order and discipline in public finances, the use of information technology helps to attain a better management of the public sector debt.

The Public Debt Monitoring System allows Government and public enterprises to send information on terms of loan, outstanding debt, and overdraft facilities online to the Ministry of Finance in a structured electronic format, which is then uploaded into the Commonwealth Secretariat Debt Recording and Management System (CS-DRMS 2000+).

Thus Government can manage its public debt more effectively as part of sound financial management, and to abide with national and international financial norms and commitments.

  • IMPORTANT COMMUNIQUE

    Dear User,

    In our ongoing effort to enhance our services and expand our global reach, we are transitioning our domain from portalmns.mu to a new, more comprehensive domain:
    pdms.mns.global.

    What this means for you:
    • Decommissioning: The portalmns.mu domain will be officially decommissioned on 7th January, 2026. Please ensure all your records and bookmarks are updated to reflect the new domain.

    • Redirects: For a transitional period, traffic to the old domain (https://portalmns.mu:4545/PDMS) will be automatically redirected to the new one (https://pdms.mns.global). We highly recommend updating your records as soon as possible to avoid any potential disruption.

    • Your login credentials and account information remain unchanged. You can continue to access your account using the same username and password.

    • Login Credentials Re-entry: Please note that any login IDs and passwords currently saved by your browser for portalmns.mu:4545/PDMS will not be automatically retrieved when accessing pdms.mns.global the first time. You will need to re-enter your User ID and Password, after which you may choose to save them in your browser for future convenience.

    • No Change to PDMS platform: This change is strictly a domain migration. All services including your accounts, data, and existing functionalities, will remain unchanged and fully operational on the new domain.
